My Estranged Wife May Be In Trouble!
My estranged wife is having trouble at work: she can't get paid, and it is very possible that the business will fail. Ever since Heartache left, she has been paying the mortgage, the cell phone, and the electricity bill. Until just a couple of months ago, she paid for the satellite TV so I could watch Fox news and a couple of the hunting channels. I am glad I no longer have TV service in weighing the costs and benefits. While I had a TV, it was extremely hard to turn it off and read a book. Not only do I read books, but I take notes on four by six index cards. This is hard work in terms of discipline and writing. I would not do it if I had a TV available. I am thinking about how to save more of my Social Security check, my only source of income. One way is to cut the number of trips into town from daily to three times a week. It costs $5 in gas just to come into town. I allot myself $20 a day to live on, and $5 saved would be a significant difference. I am also thinking about quitting Toastmasters as it costs about $10 a month to belong and $10 in gas to get to the meeting. Also, I have been using the lightbulbs for my only source of heat, but leaving the open the door to the garage. The garage is also open at the garage door has been stuck in the up position for a decade or so. I went to the meter and measure the wheel. With all the lights on, it was going around in about 9 seconds. Then I turned all the lights off but what I consider essential - about 7 lightbulbs. The meter wheel had slowed down to 18 seconds for one revolution. A big difference! I need to get the power bill down so I can pay it if I have to. Meanwhile, I wait, much too scared, for the final word about Heartache's employment.
